I have a BA degree in Psychology with an emphasis on behavior modification from the University of Central Florida. I work in business now, rather than animal health care, but spend my spare time working with animals.

It is simply not necessary to break an animal’s spirit in order to live together in harmony. The old methods of training dogs and other animals by controlling them through domination – in a misguided desire for “absolute obedience” – foster an attitude of human superiority and justified violence, rather than kinship and mutual respect. I believe it is harmful for all of us, and especially for children, to observe and take part in such methods. Fortunately, these ways are becoming a thing of the past as they are now being challenged by less harmful methods of establishing control.

I have worked with dogs most of my life. I have also trained an d shown in Obedience, I am unemployed at the moment and am training my collie in obedience to keep busy.
