I have a cat that had her foot cut off due to an accident with a bad cut. She had it wrapped and wrapped with nitrofurozone and amoxicillian was given 3xs a day. Problem is, the end of the leg is very red strll and this is 3 months at least later. It also leaks and forms a scab every day till the cat lickes it off. She has had the wrappings off for the past 3 weeks. It does not smell nor is the fluid any thing other than clear. I wonder if this normal with amputees. My vet costs so much and Ive spent a real fortune on my kitty and I dont wish to spend more IF it is not needed. Any thoughts?
