My family adopted a kitten from a local italian market here. it was seemingly healthy and had a new kitten appt. scheduled for the following week. He never made it that far b/c he suddenly became ill and died at the vet ER of feline panleukopenia virus. Now we are in the process of adopting another kitten, a maine coon from a breeder. It has been vaccinated. I have not brought it home because I am afraid that even though it has had 2 sets of shots that it still might get infected from residual virus here in the house. Also the Mother died during childbirth so they were hand raised and missed out on the important colostrum. What can I use to clean and kill the virus in my home with? should I worry about the places the kitten went before he got sick, the couch and ect? should I get another booster shot right as soon as I bring the kitten home? it is 3 months old today. Thanks
