Dog CVA?

Rating: 0

My 10 year old shi tzu has been diagnosed as having a stroke. She cant get up at all, her head tilts to the left, she takes food and water when offerd. She sometimes has neck muscle spasms too with eyes rolling upwards. This first happened 4 days ago and was prescribed Penicillin bd and Steroid (Pred 2.5mg bd) with no improvement. SHe has also developed a pressure sore on her elbow of her left leg with her lying position/pressure and she doesn't tend to sleep much now. What are the chances that she will improve and will she be able to walk again with a normal gait? Also as there has been no improvement now since being on meds for four days, would it more humane to have her go to sleep. It is hard seeing her like this when she was such a very active dog not so long ago. Please advise on what to do for the best.
