My 2year old love bird got into my aromatherapy oil. I washed him off immediately, however he must have digested some of it because he keeps throwing up. I took him to the pet emergency and they gave him antibiotics metacame.025 mg, a nausa medicine baytril .1mg and some electrolytes. I didn't have the $1000 to leave him there for them to put him on oxygen. I wish I did! I brought him home and he hasn't made a sound. He's seems very weak, he sneezes and he jerks alot...still throwing up occasionally. I gave him another bath like they told me to do around 7:30pm with Dove and water, because the smell of the oil is still on him. I left him at 8pm and came back at 12am. He looks better has eaten and made soup with his water (put food in his water). I'm praying that this is a good sign. I don't want to lose him! I covered his cage and put a light close to it to keep him warm. His breathing doesn't look as stressed as it did when this first occured at 3pm on Sat. July 11. He's sleep now 1:53am July 12. What else can I do? Is there anywhere I can take him, that care for birds at a cheaper rate? Any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate any information!
