I recently adopted a 14 month old male cat from the humaine society. I took him directly to the local vet to have him declawed. I picked him up last Wednesday evening. He has hardly eaten anything and I have only gotten him to drink a very small amount of milk. I even took an eyedropper to get some milk in his mouth. After that, he drank a small amount from the dish. He has not voluntarily left the comfort of the chair he adopted for 6 days now. He plays a little bit when I put him on the floor, but so far he hasn't ventured about the house at all. He seems afraid to to exploring. I don't know if his lack of appetite is somehow from the declawing surgery or if he just isn't used to haveing any space. He was kept in a cage at the humaine society for the last 8 months. Please advise...how can I get kitty to eat?
