Background:
My 17 yr old cat has been ill for over a year. The vets said a few months ago there was nothing left to do, but make her comfortable. A sonegram from Jan 2007 showed a black mass on her intestine (don't rememberif it was the large one or the small one), but she was too fragil to handle a biopsy. Therefore, the diagnosis was only a guess: Either Lymphoma, OR a bad case of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
My question to you relates to an incident yesterday morning:
She was having a drink of water and suddenly let out a loud, AWFUL moan, and fell over. While laying on her side, a large GUSH of clear, odorless fluid came pouring out of her butt. I know it was coming out her rear-end and not her pee-thingy, because I was standing right there.
For the rest of the day she was in pain, gassy, and lathargic. Also, she's was having small little spasms a few times an hour. I thought this was the end for her, so I didn't call her vet. I just watched her all day.
Well, this morning she is bright eyed, making eye contact, purring and eating a LOT...She hasn't been doing ANY of that for almost a week. Although she is still having small spasms, today, but far less frequently than yesterday.
I don't know what to make of all this.
What do you think?
What could the fluid have been? A hemmorage of a cyst or something???? A hole in her intestine?? She has had pleanty of water since the "incident" and nothing weird happened.
I'm really confused.
Am gratful for any guidance and input.
Thank you.
