Behavioral

  • recent unusual behavior

On 12-16-07 and 12-17-07 Abby started running from place to place to lie down for 2-10 minutes and then repeats. She seems to have a muscle quiver/spasm on left shoulder. I did put Seargent's tick, flea medicine on her on 12-15 and she did try to jump in a truck and fell off a few days ago, but she was fine till 5p.m. on 12-16.

  • We found a stray...

We found a cat outside, and we're not sure if it was an indoor cat and an outdoor cat...it has on a collar, but not a name tag...how can you tell if it's an outdoor cat? It paws at the window and the door and it's friendly towards us...we're not sure what to do.

  • No Longer eating

Iiah is old and has been diagnosed with possible bladder carcinoma, arthritis, and cataracs. She has gone down hill quickly since Christmas and is no longer eating. This is very concerning because it is her favorite thing to do. I have tried canned food and nothing. Any suggestions. Also, she is in a great amount of pain in her neck and back from arthritis. Is there any pain releiver that is safe?

  • Cat question

Hank is a 100% indoor cat, and has been vomiting lately. She does her normal hairball evacuation, but this vomit is partially digested food. Also i have noticed she has a yellowish ring around her eyes. She has greenish colored eyes so the yellow ring really stands out. Also she is a little standoffish, she is usually very affectionate. Any ideas?

  • cats illness

My 4year old male cat has been sick now for 2 days and seems to be getting worse. Our local vets are not in until tomorrow. He vomited on Sunday once and once on Monday, he is very lethargic today, won't eat but will drink and wants to lay in my arms and lets me rub his belly which is abnormal for him, he is usually very very active and playful. He does go outside daily and has been now for about 2-3 months. Plese help

  • My cat has been over grooming one spot near his anus. He has done this once before in his life. I rescued him when he was 3 weeks old and had to teach him grooming and I wonder if this has something to do with it even though he is now 10. I want to just treat the sore til the habit stops on its own like last time but I don't want anything that will make him ill if he licks it off, and I'd like to avoid the cone collar. And I'm stuck at home right now so I'm really hoping to use something from my own medicine cabinet. Any suggestions?

  • 2 male dogs meeting

I own a 3 year old male Rottweiler named Chewy, who is fixed. Currently we live at home with my dad's Husky Nikki, who is 11 (and we used to also live with another Rottie who died last summer). My long distance boyfriend owns a 3 year old male boxer (Harley) who is NOT fixed. I hope to in the near future have them meet and also live with my boyfriend in about a year's time. I'm concerned about the way they might react (and I know my boyfriend does not plan on fixing Harley)...what can I do to help this situation?
