my cat minky had two kittens in july, both died last week and minky has died a week later, they all had the symptoms: bloody noses, loss of balance and tempory paralysis of back legs, loss of appitite, eye and throat infections and severe vomiting and sneezing

poorly rat
Posted on 2008/01/20 by rachelhi my pet rat for the last 3 weeks has been treated for mites with ivermectin by my vet, i re-introduced him to his cage mates on friday, but since then he has gone down hill his skin is red again & he has ripped his ear somehow, also i have been on at my vet as his breathng has been funny but my vet says his chest is clear he doesn't have any red mucus around his eyes or nose. could his cage mates be picking on him? as he has never been an adventurous rat. please help. i am going to get him into the vets tomorrow but i don't think they now much about rats.

Metal Allergy Possible?
Posted on 2008/03/01 by MarissaMy dog was diagnosed with allergies. She has been on an elimination diet for 2 months and still has itchy, red skin on forearms and chest. She wears a collar with a metal buckle and the rash is especially bad on her chest where the buckle and tags hang. Could she have a metal allergy? We have bought her a new collar today, minus the metal and only put it on when she goes out. Allergies are year round. The only thing that helps is steroids which are not good for her. What is the next step we should take? She also has a raised, pimple (boil?) on her neck. Since she went back to her old food, she is lethargic, vomiting bile and has no appetite. Posted on 2008/05/19 by UserI had a kitten born 2/29/08 she was the runt of the litter she didn't seem to grow very much she still fit in the palm of my hand and she was almost 3 months old she would get a runny nose and her eyes would shut but they would open back up Saturday night she was running all over the place Sunday morning she seemed all right I left for a couple of hours and when I came home she was lifeless and a few hours later she died. Sneezing kittens
Posted on 2008/09/10 by UserWe got two 10 week old kittens from a local cat shelter (cats only) last Tuesday (9/2). Two nights ago, they started sneezing a few times an hour or so. I have not noticed any discharge from their noses, but from their breathing it does sound like they have a stuffy nose. We keep them indoors all of the time and they are otherwise happy, playing, eating, sleeping, purring, etc. I am on the lookout for any abnormal behavior (lethargy, lack of appetite) but have not noticed any yet. I read through a couple other similar situations, could this be Cat Flu or allergies? If so, how long should I wait before consulting a vet? Could this go away on its own? Could it be...

swollen nose
Posted on 2008/09/25 by BeverlyYesterday, when I left for work he was fine when I came home his nose was swollen and he didn't want to eat but did. He and the other dogs have access through their dog door to the backyard that is fenced as well as their own room in the house when I'm at work. The nose appears to be swollen on one side and there is running of the nose and some sneezing. I gave him a benydrl last night and he seemed to rest easier. Do you think it could be a bug bit...there are numberous bees and wasps outside. I didn't see any puncture at the sight. He finally ate for fear the other dogs would eat his food but was resting most of the time. What should I do to care for him and how...

Discharge from eyes in kittens
Posted on 2009/01/16 by UserWe have two kittens adopted from animal shelter 3 weeks ago - 12 and 14 weeks old now. They have seen the vet and been through a dose of Clavamox and then Gentamicin Sulfate for water eyes (and sometimes yellowish colored.) They don't water or have yellow discharge every day. One of the cat's was sneezing every so often and we were told to use the Gent. Sulfate as a nose drop on her (along with in her eyes.) What's the next step? Appetite is great, using the litter box fine, no diahrea, very playful. Thank you.
