Vomiting

  • Bloated Beagle

Our dog got loose this past Saturday and must have ate something. His stomach is bloaded and has vomitted once, approximately 2 hours after he ate on Sunday. He is lethargic and having a hard time holding himself up. He asks to go out, but produces nothing. You're thoughts!

  • vomiting and weight loss

We are having difficulty in getting a correct diagnosis for my 13-year old Ragdoll Cat. Sassy has a history of Kidney issues since a kitten. Therefore we are constantly testing her levels. On presciption canned and dry for IBD. Recently started having vomiting issues again. Has lost weight. In December started periordically vomiting liquid with signs of blood. Had complete blood work done, urinalysis and x-ray. Kidney levels had risen but still okay. Rest of blood work and tests fine. X-ray showed one kidney larger than the other, which has been her history. Tried sulcrafate with pepcid. Two doses and she has sudden onset of diarrhea and lost her appetite. Stopped meds....

  • Vomiting

My boyfriend's 1 year old Shih Tzu puppy had a black/ blue item in his vomit. The item resembels the black sponge of a small sponge hair roller. He's a very energetic/ happy dog, but he becomes slow and somber when this happens, like most dogs after vomiting. Have you ever heard of anything like this? This isn't the first time that this has happened, but I would like to know the cause of it.

  • My oldest cat - female, 14 year old - is struggling with severe weight loss and vomiting. The vet did a blood test (about two months ago) and excluded feline leukemia (she gets her yearly shots). She was put on an antibiotic and there was some improvement with some weight gain. On 12/20/07 we had to board her during our winter break. When I picked her up (01/03/08), I noticed immediately that she had lost weight again. The vet said it could be because of the boarding and we should give it some time. Although she hasn't lost anymore weight (I try to keep vomiting to a minimum by feeding her small amounts), she hasn't gained too much either and to make things worse,...

  • Cat refuses food and water

15, refusing food & occasionally accepting water. (water must be fresh & brought to her) Recently had a few weeks of severe diarrhea. She remained hydrated, active and happy. Then she pooped a few times and now has been dropping weight for a few weeks. Minimal poop (minimal intake) and limited urination (ditto) She just vomited the last bit of water she drank, 15 minutes ago. My quandary: I don't want big medical interventions. I want her to be without pain and I want a peaceful, comfortable ending, if that is what's happening... (her temperament has not changed, sleeping a lot)

  • Avocado ingestion

My Golden Retriever got a hold of a sandwich with avocado slices at lunch and now (6 hours later) she is refusing dinner. She has appeared to be trying to vomit. How concerned should I be at this time?

  • Collapse/Fainting

This will be long, but any ideas of what this could be will help us so much!! Bubba is a very healthy dog, very active and a great weight (a little on the thin side even). He is a Pekingese (3years old) and has never had anything like this happen before. Here is what happened. I slept in Monday morning and woke up to diarrhea in the bathroom. It was a fair amount and some of it was very runny. Also, it seemed like Bubba may have struggled with it because it was in several places. I didn’t think much of it, however I did notice Bubba doing this weird thing. He kept sitting down a lot and was acting like it hurt him to do so. He would sit down very carefully...
